Senator Zalla at a Senator Lillidge Rally in Nashville, Tennessee Hello, I'm here today in Tennessee to speak to y'all about issues facing our country in this upcoming election. Now, I am very, very happy to be here today because Tennessee is close to my home, Kentucky and, like Kentucky, its home to some good ole Southern folk, the kind of people that make this country amazing. *crowd cheers* Now, lets sit down and focus on some really big issues. As I'm sure y'all have noticed, the current state of things in Washington is a mess! The economy is in a hole, the nation's borders are insecure, and the situation in Iraq has been poorly handled by the current Administration. *crowd cheers and claps* Like all good Tennesseans, I never run from an issue and neither does our man, Senator Lillidge. Senator Lillidge has proposed a plan to help small businesses out in this time of economic decline so that they can keep up with competition and churn out some good ole American products. *crowd claps* Senator Lillidge has a plan to see to it that our nation's borders and security are kept as a top priority and not tossed off to the side like certain other politicians would do. Senator Lillidge is willing to take the time needed to fix the borders so our future generations can live in a free and safe America. *crowd cheers* Senator Lillidge has a plan to make the Iraq Issue a simple solution and move forward so that the only thing coming out of Iraq is good, not the long series of bad news that the current Administration has caused. *crowd cheers* Senator Lillidge is a man that may not be from the South, but he has a good ole southern ideal that we all have, and that is extreme pride in this great nation of ours! *crowd cheers and waves their American flags* See, yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about! This crowd before me is a classic example of the kind of people that make America the best nation in the world. God bless this country! *crowd cheers and waves their American flags* Y'all are good folks and, come this election season, you'll have a chance to vote for a man that can change Washington for good. The current Administration has called for Tax Cuts, but only the wealthy are benefiting; Senator Lillidge will ease the taxes on everyone, not just the wealthy. The gas price crisis has gone on for too long; Senator Lillidge will finally fix this problem by encouraging further economic development across the world and looking for ways to find cheaper, renewable fuels. *crowd claps* Senator Lillidge is our man, and given his success in Iowa, Florida, Nevada, and elsewhere, he's the obvious man for the job. Come on, now, and lets go and tell the nation that Tennessee is the next state on that list. Lets go tell those men and women in Washington that Tennessee wants Senator Lillidge in the White House. *crowd cheers* And, I can speak for Senator Lillidge here, if the Great State of Tennessee joins the coalition of states backing the Lillidge Campaign then we're assured a victory because the State of Tennessee always succeeds when it starts something, all you good folks are proof of that! *crowd cheers* God bless America and God bless the Great State of Tennessee! *crowd cheers and waves their American flags*

February Day 1 Continued Augusta, GA Topic: Foreign Policy Target: D/I/R
Let's take a look at the world today. North Korea is run by a dictator and may have nuclear weapons. Darfur is run by a government that is decidedly anti-American and has little to no regard for human rights and liberty as evidenced by the continuing genocide. Afghanistan is still a bastion of terrorism and a safe-haven for radical Islamics.
Why are these hot spots still a concern to national security? I'll tell you why -- the failed policies of the Bush administration have cost us our strength and influence abroad!
We need a foreign policy that recognizes that America can't drop bombs on a country and then say "mission accomplished." When we go into a country, we have to make sure that we go in as a last resort after having exhausted all diplomatic channels. If we ever have to send our military into harms way, it's absolutely essential that we go into action with a clear mission, a clear strategy and a clear way out. We haven't gotten the job done in Iraq or in Afghanistan, and we can't afford four more years of unfinished missions around the world.
I have stood -- I have always stood -- for a foreign policy of strength, but also of multilateralism. I've stood for moral clarity and human rights, and I've stood for confronting tyrants around the world. We cannot allow America's strength to fade as it has been; it's time for us to renew our strength abroad, renew our leadership abroad, and create a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Savannah, GA Topic: Middle Class Target: D/I
The Bush Administration talks about how it's cutting taxes for all Americans. But the fact of the matter is that President Bush has returned to us the era of voodoo economics. Two thirds of the Bush Administration's tax cuts have gone to the top 10% of America's wealthy. We've seen the harm that this irresponsible shift in the tax burden onto the middle class has had. We've seen inflation consistently outpacing growth. We've seen negative, or neutral, economic expansion. Our economy has been stagnant -- it's time for a change, it's time for middle class tax relief!
We've seen what happens when the middle class are relieved of the tax burden. We saw it from 1992 to 2000, when the United States experienced the longest sustained economic growth in its history. We had more new jobs than ever before, we had lower inflation and interest rates, and we had greater economic growth. It's time to return America back to that golden age, and it starts with a 10% tax break for middle class Americans!
Together we can build a strong middle class! Together we can make the tax system a fair system! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Athens, GA Topic: Homeland Security Target: D/I/R
America's been through trying times in recent years. We've faced terrorist attacks on our soil and we've faced a warabroad. We saw what happens when we do too little to prevent terrorists from striking America. We saw it in New York. We know they are not going to go away. We saw it in London, our closest ally, when terrorists managed to set bombs in the subway. For the past four years, we haven't done nearly enough -- not nearly enough -- to secure the homeland.
For years, the unimplemented recommendations of the 9/11 Commission sat on President Bush's desk. He won't implement them. We still have ports that are unsecure, we still have borders that are unsecure and we still have rail services that are unsecure. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to elect a President who will secure America! It's time to elect a President who will implement those recommendations! I will be that President!
Together we can build a secure America! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Columbus, GA Topic: Crime Target: D/I
America needs a leader that will tackle crime head on. This Republican Administration has put the home-front on the back burner for too long. Crime is increasing, jobs are decreasing and Americans are concerned.
My strategy not only will fight crime, but the roots and causes of crime as well. My crime strategy won't just put people behind bars, it will provide rehabilitation for the addicted, opportunity for the poor and end the alienation of our youth. We can take real steps and measures to fight crime with a strategy that works. We look at the plan in Washington and we see no measures being taken on crime - the status-quo is not the answer, real action for our citizens is the answer. I will act for all citizens and stand tall to fight crime. We need to increase neighborhood patrols, we need to rehabilitate drug users do that the prison door doesn't become a revolving door, we need to build more prisons to guarantee that the criminal will do their time.
Many American cities have strong solutions to their crime problem-let's work with work with our regional and civic governments to implement the strategies that work for your communities. We can accomplish things together and America will be stronger. Under my leadership we will achieve a dream of cracking down on crime to protect your safety.
Together we can build a safer America. Together we can build a more compassionate America. Together we can build the New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Chatanooga, TN Topic: Getting Results Target: D/I
If we can fianlly rise above the partisan bickering we have seen in Washington the past four years, maybe we can finally get something done for the people here in America. The biggest problem with the Bush Presidency has been this 'my way or the highway' attitude on all of his policies. Our plans for this nation aren't set in stone. There are certain principles that we intend to protect, but we are open to compromise on issues that face America today as long as the focus of the compromise is the betterment of the American people. The difference however between our campaign and the current White House is clear. They have not shown that they have a plan to bring America into the future, to strengthen our economy and secure our homeland. We have a plan.
Our plan isn't a Democratic plan, Independent plan or a Republican plan. It is an American plan. I truly believe that when we work together, there is nothing that this nation can't accomplish. I believe that if our politicians would get together and focus on what is important to the American people instead of what's important to the party, then we can move America forward. That's what a Lillidge administration will be about: results, not photo ops.
Together we can build a strong America! Together we can build a results based America! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Knoxville, TN speaking at Univ. of Tennessee Topic: Education Target: D/I
A great education is the gateway to success, it is the gateway to opportunity and accessibility. Every child should have the opportunity to receive a world class education, and the ability to attend college if they wish to like you here today at Tennessee. We must properly educate our children so that they can compete in this global economy and lead our country down a path of innovation and new technology for the future. A future that is bright for you. I will work to improve standards within our public schools and decrease the number of students in each class. I will demand accountability and improvement as well as provide additional funding to make our schools better for every child no matter what race, social standing or climate that they live.
This is one of America's great universities. My hope for America is that every child who wishes to attend a great university will have that opportunity. I propose to increase the tax credits that parents can take to offset the high rising cost of tuition. We live in the richest country and money should not be the road block that keeps a young person from attending college.
Together we can build a bright future for America! Together we can have the best educational system in the world! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Nashville, TN Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I
Despite medical abundance, healthcare is too often meager because of the irrationality of the present health care system. Over 47 million Americans have no health insurance whatsoever, including 33% of Hispanics, 21% of African-Americans and Asians, and 11% of Whites. Many more - perhaps most of us - are underinsured. The world’s richest health care system is unable to assure such basics as prenatal care and immunizations, and we trail most of the developed world on such indicators as infant mortality and life expectancy. Even the well-insured may find care compromised when HMOs deny them expensive medications and therapies. For patients, fear of financial ruin often amplifies the misfortune of illness.
This is why, as President of the United States, I will push forward my plan, American Healthcare Choices. My plan would make health care affordable, unlike the current health system where insurance premiums send people into bankruptcy, the plan provides tax credits for working families to help them cover their costs. The tax credits will ensure that working families never have to pay more than a limited percentage of their income for health care. It provides you with choices. If you have a plan you like, you keep it. If you want to change plans or aren't currently covered, you can choose from dozens of the same plans available to members of Congress, or you can opt into a public plan option like Medicare.
This plan is good for small businesses. Small businesses are the engine of new job growth in the U.S. economy but face bigger challenges when it comes to providing health care for their employees. My plan would give tax credits to small businesses that provide health care to their workers to help defray their coverage costs. This will make small businesses more competitive and help create good jobs with health benefits that will stay here in the U.S.
Together we can build a health care program that benefits all Americans! Together we can build a more productive work force! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Boston, MA (3rd visit) Topic: A New American Century Target: D/I
From time to time time a nation must reflect upon its position in the course of history and this world. America's a position is one of great power, but also of great responsibility. Just under a century ago, American troops set foot on European soil to defeat an enemy intent on imposing an imperial regime upon the free people of Europe.
Only twenty four years later, the United States once again answered the call to arms in the defense of freedom, and we fought a bloody struggle to put an end to tyranny in Japan and Germany. In the place of oppression, democracy flourished, and grew. From the sacrifice of our fathers and grandfathers grew the promise of liberty for people across the world, and without the United States, many of those people would still be under the thumb of tyrants to this day.
This promise, however, could not overcome the destruction of the Second World War for some. A new empire rose in its place, this one a communist threat to our way of life. Intent on the destruction of democracy and the fundamental rights we all enjoy, the Soviet Union attempted to stamp out the fire of liberty. But, through our leadership, the Free World rallied, and the last great outpost of tyranny collapsed.
The 20th century was a violent century, but it was also a great century, and it was our century -- it was a century which saw the defeat of tyrants and the rise of liberty around the world. It saw the final progression of history from oppression to democracy. But today, democracy is not secure. It is threatened by terrorists who would seek to impose their own brand of radical ideologies upon all of us. It's threatened by the growing power of extremism in all corners of the globe. It's threatened by a resurgent movement towards oligarchy and oppression. Democracy, my friends, is in peril.
It is going to take a leader with courage, vision, and an understanding of the problem to lead America. I am that candidate. It is time to build a New American Century. Let's do it together.
February Day 1 Continued Cambridge, MA Topic:Homeland Security Target: D/I
America's been through trying times in recent years. We've faced terrorist attacks on our soil and we've faced a warabroad. We saw what happens when we do too little to prevent terrorists from striking America. We saw it in New York. We know they are not going to go away. Together we can build a secure America! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Bridgeport, CT Topic: Environment Target: D/I
I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment. The Republicans would have us believe that Global Warming is a figment of our imaginations. Scientist from around the world may disagree to the causes but they all agree that our planet is getting warmer.
I have long been outspoken for environmental issues but with the Republicans controlling the White House and the House of Representatives, little has been done. Global warming is a serious issue. It is time for the America to lead the way in the area of renewable energy. I will be an advocate for research and development programs that will lower our dependency on oil, capturing carbon dioxide from coal-burning power plants and creating "green" jobs.
If elected, I will propose tax incentives that encourage energy companies to retrofit coal-burning power plants with carbon dioxide capturing technology. I will also propose tax incentives for businesses that engage in research and development in the areas of solar, wind and other forms of renewable energy. Together we can change the atmosphere in Washington. Together we can put the environment first. Together we can lower our dependence on foreign oil. Together we can secure America’s future.
For the everyday citizen of the great country I propose tax incentives for homeowners to make their houses more energy efficient and for those who purchase automobiles that use dual fuel, electric or other renewable energy sources.
Together we can build an America into a beacon of clean energy that illuminates the way for the rest of the World. Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued New Haven, CT Topic: Taxes Target: D/I
It’s a sad day in American history when you, the every day citizen, pays more than your fair share out of your pocket in taxes at the end of the day than ever before. It’s important that you, the people who work hard and strive everyday to move our economy forward, keep more of your money so that you can save for a rainy day or improve your lifestyle today…and you surely cannot do those things with the taxes you pay. That's why I'm opposed to cutting taxes for the top earners in our country and that's why I'm for cutting taxes for the average American.
I believe that our country is in desperate straights right now, folks. We've got the richest one percent of the population owning more and more of the wealth in this country...and they're not giving anything near enough back to the society that benefits them so much. We've got people living in some of the biggest and richest cities in this nation...but they're holding down two jobs and struggling to make their house payments! America has got to change. Your government is supposed to be working for your interests, not against them...but the Bush White House and his Republican cronies in Congress have been hitting the average American more and more while they let their corporate friends get off the hook.
We can't have someone in the White House who's going to cut taxes for the rich and stand by and let everyone else foot the bill. You've got to go to the polls and show the rest of the country that you're not going to stand for the injustice of the Bush presidency. Lets get out there and make America whole again!
Together we can rebuild America's middle class! Together we can bolster our families! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Independence, MO Topic: Courage to Lead Target: D/I
It is great to be in the boyhood city of President Harry S. Truman! President Truman lived in a time that is similar to ours. The economy was in transition. The United States was involved in a war abroad. A large threat, communism, was looming over the horizon.
Today we face a stagnate economy. Terrorism is always right over the horizon. We are involved in a war abroad.
President Truman made some historic decisions that took courage and conviction. He desegregated our armed forces. He proposed the establishment of the United Nations. He stood up against communism around the world and he began the economic trasnsition from a war-time economy to a peace-time economy.
Today we need to move our economy to a green economy. We need to devise a secure plan to get out of Iraq. We have to continue the fight against terrorism.
We need a leader that is willing to make the tought decisions like President Truman. We need a leader with courage and conviction. I am that candidate!
February Day 1 Continued Springfield, MO Topic: Family Farms Target: D/I
More and more decent, hard-working Americans are losing farms that have been passed down from generation to generation. We do what we can by helping them compete with improved technologies, and financial assistance when times get tough. But it's gotten to the point where farmers can't even rely on this anymore -- President Bush's budget slashed money for farmers across the country, and Missouri is already feeling it. I would not have submitted that budget and I can guarantee that I am against gutting assistance to all farmers!
Economic times may dictate that we can't rely on financial assistance forever. That is why we must also need to find new markets for farmers abroad and right here at home. The market at home is the production of ethanol. Ethanol could bring billions of dollars into the state -- that translates into tens of thousands of jobs. Ethanol is already working for Iowa, and it could work for the rest of America in the future.
I say it's time we make an investment in that future. We need to put an ethanol pump at every gas station in the country by 2020. We need to make sure that consumers have the choice to buy ethanol, and that farmers can tap in to the vast, untapped ethanol market. We must also negotiate with countries abroad to lower tariffs on food products shipped from the United States. We need to fight for a fair playing field. These two initiatives will bring prosperity back to the American farmer.
Together we can strengthen the American farmer! Together we can create fair markets overseas! Together we can create a cleaner environment! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Kansas City, MO Topic: Fair Trade Target: D/I
One of the largest reasons that American jobs are being exported left, right, and center is because we haven’t been thinking about American workers when we sign trade deals – we’ve been putting profits ahead of people, and that’s not responsible government. I've said again and again that what America needs is fair trade. Fair trade means signing trade agreements that work for America. It means that when our trade negotiators sit down to hammer out a treaty, they have one thing in mind: our national interest. When we sign trade deals, I don't want to bring ideology into the picture -- we should be thinking about things like jobs, and wages right here at home. What will be best for the American people, and American workers -- that's my trade policy. That's fair trade.
But fair trade alone won’t solve our outsourcing problem. We also need aggressive re-training programs for workers displaced by trade. I will put forth legislation that provides local governments the resources needed to guarantee that Americans whose jobs have been outsourced can go back to school to get training that will lead to new and better jobs. Missouri knows better than anyone that what we need more than anything right now is decent jobs for hard-working Americans.
Together we can build a strong American economy! Together we can create a fair trade policy that protects the American worker! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued St. Louis, MO Topic: Global Warming Target: D/I
We've seen alot of amazing and horrifying things in the past one hundred years. We've seen the first atomic bombs used on people and the fall of the Berlin Wall. We've seen genocide in Europe and Africa. But there isn't anything that scares me more than seeing a chunk of Antarctica fall off into the ocean and start flooding across the globe. Global warming is the biggest threat to our nation since Communism.
To fight global warming it is going to take tax incentives to create a green infrastructure, its going to mean laying down the law with corporations who pollute our air and water, it's going to mean a fundamental change in our beliefs in Washington and it's going to take a new mindset for the American people. Our children depend on us to set an example for how the world is supposed to work and I don't think they'd like it if we destroy the only planet we've got before they're old enough to enjoy it.
The fiasco that is the Bush administration has presided over is inexcusable. Our country has to begin setting out and laying plans that are going to help slow down and stop global warming, but we can't do that without the right kind of leader. Pretty soon, New York is going to have a primary to decide who the Democratic nominee will be. You're going to have a tough decision to make, but if you care about what kind of world we leave to our children...you'll vote for someone who's been speaking out against global warming for a long time, you'll vote for someone who has the capability to change our course and get things back on track, you'll vote for someone with a realistic plan to begin the march to a greener economy. You'll vote for Lance Lillidge.
Together we can build the infrastructure needed. Together we can lead the world to fight global warming! Together we can build a greener tomorrow! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Minneapolis, MN Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I

February Day 1 Continued St. Paul, MN Topic: Leaderhsip Target: D/I
We cannot lead the world when we don't have leadership at home. We need leadership to ensure every American has affordable and quality healthcare through the Libertycare program. We need, ladies and gentlemen, leadership to do what we all know must be done in order to give every child a world-class education, and the opportunity to achieve even greater heights at university and college. We must show the leadership to return the nation to our heyday of prosperity and strength through balanced budgets and a 10% tax break for the middle class.
We need that leadership at home if we are to be a strong country, and a proud country; ladies and gentlemen, we need that good guidance and governance now more than ever. I'm running for President because I envision a New American Century. I envision a time of leadership, strength, and prosperity, and I know that time is now. Please join me and together let's build that New American Century!
February Day 1 Continued Duluth, MN Topic: Environment Target: D/I
I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment.
February Day 1 Continued Rochester, MN Topic: Fair Trade Target:D/I
One of the largest reasons that American jobs are being exported left, right, and center is because we haven’t been thinking about American workers when we sign trade deals – we’ve been putting profits ahead of people, and that’s not responsible government.

Senator Zalla Campaigns for Senator Lillidge in Montgomery, Alabama
Ladies and Gentlemen, how y'all doing down here in the State of Alabama?
*crowd cheers*
I am going to start off tonight by asking y'all one quick little question. Who here in this town is sick and tired of gas prices?
*crowd cheers and claps*
That's what I thought! I am sick of driving down to the corner shop only to see that I'm paying close to $4 a gallon. Can you believe that, $4 a gallon! That's just plain ridiculous!
*crowd cheers*
That's why I was quick to use my position as Chairman of the Energy, Science, Agriculture, and Evironmental Affairs Committee to do everything in my power to keep options open for renewable energy exploration while getting additional barrels of oil here in the States until that renewable energy arrives. We need to make gas prices cheaper in order to boost the economy while working on renewable energy resources. That's not going to happen if the only bills coming into the Committee are a waste of time and money for idiotic ideals.
*crowd cheers*
And, as Chairman of the ESAEA Committee, I endorsed Senator Lillidge's campaign because his campaign is the only one present that will offer a realistic approach to renewable energy. It's kinda obvious that renewable energy won't be here overnight, so until it gets here we need the oil to ease the prices. Why all the other politicians in Washington believe that its just going to magically appear, I don't know, but I do know that Senator Lillidge has the plan to make life cheaper, sound good?
*crowd cheers, chants "Lillidge, Lillidge, Lillidge!"*
That's right, if chant that then its likely y'all will have four years of substantial success and economic stability. Given the current Administration's close ties to foreign oil monarchs and tyrants, I don't think that its wise to keep given those boys there money. After all, why not switch to finding viable oil sources in Alaska and Canada. We have the technology and the capable to find and drill for oil and do so in a way that allows for the natural wildlife and habitat to remain calm and unharmed. Instead of wasting money on saying 'heck no to drillin' why don't we spend that money on finding safe and evironmentally friendly ways to drill?
*crowd cheers*
Now, Senator Lillidge is the man who has the plan. He has repeatedly told me and the voters that his plan will allow for renewable, environmentally safe energy to enter the states while downgrading our use of foreign oil. Oil Interest Firms in Washington aren't happy with that, but as y'all know, its y'all that decide what happens in Washington, not those ole firms.
*crowd cheers*
Senator Lillidge has the economic know-how to ease our economic recession and allow for small businesses to grow without hurting them under unfair tax conditions. The current Administration has given some pretty strong talk about the so-called tax cuts and they are benefitial, but they place too much benefit on the richer individuals and not enough on the lower income families. Senator Lillidge means to have that imbalance shifted.
*crowd cheers and claps*
Now, y'all know that you have two options when you go in to vote. Do you want someone who has the realistic approach to handling the economy, or someone who just playing the same old games?
*crowd cheers*
Thank-y'all and God Bless ya

February Day 2 Anchorage, AK Topic: Foreign Policy Target: D/I/R
February Day 2 Fairbanks, AK Topic: Middle Class Target: D/I
The Bush Administration talks about how it's cutting taxes for all Americans.
February Day 2 Juneau, AK Topic: Homeland Security Target: D/I/R
February Day 2 Tuscon, AZ Topic: Crime Target: D/I
America needs a leader that will tackle crime head on.
February Day 2 Flagstaff, AZ Topic: Getting Results Target: D/I/R
February Day 2 Phoenix, AZ speaking at Univ. of Arizona Topic: Education Target: D/I
A great education is the gateway to success, it is the gateway to opportunity and accessibility. Every child should have the opportunity to receive a world class education, and the ability to attend college if they wish to like you here today at Arizona.
February Day 2 Denver, CO Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I
Despite medical abundance, healthcare is too often meager because of the irrationality of the present health care system.
February Day 2 Colorado Springs, CO Topic: A New American Century Target: D/I
From time to time time a nation must reflect upon its position in the course of history and this world.
February Day 2 Aurora, CO Topic:Homeland Security Target: D/I

February Day 2 Albuqeurque, NM Topic: Taxes Target: D/I
It’s a sad day in American history when you, the every day citizen, pays more than your fair share out of your pocket in taxes at the end of the day than ever before.
February Day 2 Las Cruces, NM Speaking at New Mexico State University Topic: Education Target: D/I
A great education is the gateway to success, it is the gateway to opportunity and accessibility. Every child should have the opportunity to receive a world class education, and the ability to attend college if they wish to like you here today at New Mexico State. We must properly educate our children so that they can compete in this global economy and lead our country down a path of innovation and new technology for the future. Together we can build a bright future for America! Together we can have the best educational system in the world! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 2 Oklahoma City, OK Topic: Family Farms Target: D/I
More and more decent, hard-working Americans are losing farms that have been passed down from generation to generation.
February Day 2 Tulsa, OK Topic: Fair Trade Target: D/I
One of the largest reasons that American jobs are being exported left, right, and center is because we haven’t been thinking about American workers when we sign trade deals – we’ve been putting profits ahead of people, and that’s not responsible government. Missouri knows better than anyone that what we need more than anything right now is decent jobs for hard-working Americans.
Together we can build a strong American economy! Together we can create a fair trade policy that protects the American worker! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 2 Norman, OK Topic: Global Warming Target: D/I
We've seen alot of amazing and horrifying things in the past one hundred years.
February Day 2 Wichita, KS Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I
Despite medical abundance, healthcare is too often meager because of the irrationality of the present health care system.
February Day 2 Overland Park, KS Topic: Leaderhsip Target: D/I/R
February Day 2 Kansas City, KS Topic: Environment Target: D/I
I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment.
February Day 2 Topeka, KS Topic: Fair Trade Target:D/I
One of the largest reasons that American jobs are being exported left, right, and center is because we haven’t been thinking about American workers when we sign trade deals – we’ve been putting profits ahead of people, and that’s not responsible government.

Senator Zalla Campaigns for Senator Lillidge in Jefferson City, Missouri *crowd cheers* Thank-ya. Thank-y'all. I appreciate the very warm welcome I've recieved here in Jefferson City, capital city of the beautiful state of Missouri. *crowd cheers* You know how you can tell if someone is really committed to a country? I mean, really, really committed to country? You can tell when the join the armed services and go overseas to serve our country and protect the US Constitution. *crowd cheers and waves American flags* Senator Lillidge served in the US Military and has used his experience in the military to guide him to the position he's in today. Now, we have good ole men and women over there in Iraq giving up their lives so that I can stand here today and talk to y'all about freedom and equality. So, can we give the Boys and Girls in Iraq, our soldiers, a round of applause. *crowd claps, cheers, and waves American flags* I have a deep respect for the men and women in the armed services. These men and women sacrifice their money, time, and experience so we can all be free. And, let's face it, we live in a scary world where people like Ossama bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad go around and instigate issues and make trouble for the free peoples of the world. We can't forget that bin Laden still poses a threat to the United States and for the first time we have a man with experience running for office who's committed to finding these terrorists and bringing them to justice. *crowd cheers* In my opinion, its been far too long since our sources have focused on Ossama bin Laden. While the current Administration was wasting its time trying to fight Saddam Hussein, Senator Lillidge and others were encouraging legislation to go after our real enemies, the terrorists who are the real threats to the United States. Senator Lillidge has shown himself to be a man committed to maintaining our security and prosperity. *crowd cheers* I think its time that we elected someone into the White House that has that as their number one priority. The current Administration has warned us of the troubles that terrorism causes, yet they have thus far failed to properly secure our ports and borders. The current Administration called for the arrest of Ossama bin Laden and advocated an international partnership to find the terrorist, yet he has thus far remained elusive. Why are we wasting our time with the current Administration's inability to act when we could bring a man into office that has the capabilities to hunt down our enemies and bring them justice. I believe that Senator Lillidge is that man! *crowd cheers* Now, when election day comes around, I want y'all to remember that we stand on the brink of some major changes. Let's get to work and give Senator Lillidge our support so he can get this job done for the American people! *crowd cheers and waves American flags* Thank-y'all and God Bless ya.

February Day 3 Virginia Beach, VA Topic: Foreign Policy Target: D/I/R
February Day 3 Chesapeake, VA Topic: Middle Class Target: D/I
The Bush Administration talks about how it's cutting taxes for all Americans.
February Day 3 Norfolk, VA (Norfolk Naval Base) Topic: Support of Military Target: D/I/R
It is great to be at Norfolk Naval Station today! For too long the Democrats have taken the rap from the Republicans about being weak on military issues! I'm here to tell you that I served in the Army and I am a very pro-military Democrat!
I have written legislation in the US Senate to strengthen the military and I will always be on your side! Today's administration talks tough. Where was the support when returning veterans were shipped to a down trodden Walter Reed Army Medical Center for long term rehab? Where was the support when the military was sent to fight without the proper equipment? Where was the support for our brave young men and women like yourselves?
Your support was in the US Senate! I'm running for President so that you WILL have the support needed coming from your Commander-in-Chief! You are America's front line against the terrorist who want to destroy our way of life. You are the front line against nations that wish us ill. You should be treated with respect, honor and the dignity that you deserve and in my administration, that will be the top priority!
Together we can rebuild our military! Together we can secure America! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 3 Richmond, VA Topic: Crime Target: D/I
America needs a leader that will tackle crime head on.
February Day 3 Arlington, VA Topic: Getting Results Target: D/I/R
February Day 3 Washington DC Topic: Education Target: D/I
A great education is the gateway to success, it is the gateway to opportunity and accessibility. Every child should have the opportunity to receive a world class education, and the ability to attend college if they wish to like you here today.
February Day 3 Baltimore, MD Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I
Despite medical abundance, healthcare is too often meager because of the irrationality of the present health care system.
February Day 3 Columbia, MD Topic: A New American Century Target: D/I
From time to time time a nation must reflect upon its position in the course of history and this world.
February Day 3 Baton Rouge, LA Topic:Homeland Security Target: D/I
America's been through trying times in recent years. We've faced terrorist attacks on our soil and we've faced a war abroad.
February Day 3 Shreeveport, LA Topic: Environment Target: D/I
I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment.
February Day 3 New Orleans, LA Topic: Responsible Government (Hurricane Katrina) Target: D/I
This morning I took a tour of the Ninth Ward here in the great city of New Orleans. This city was devestated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and it's sad to say that there is still a long way to go to rebuild this city to it's former glory.
The Bush Administration was too slow to act! The Bush Administration has ceased what little action they did take! As President, it will be my mission to remove FEMA from the Department of Homeland Security and once again make it an independent agency. This would cut the red-tape and allow the agency to move quickly to help American citizens if they find themselves in the situation that you faced 3 long years ago.
I will also make a committment to you that I will not forget New Orleans! I will put forth a plan that will help revitalize this and other cities that have faced natural disasters. This plan will be a combination of low interest loans and tax credits for small businesses to begin to rebuild.
Together we can rebuild New Orleans! Together we can strengthen our communities! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 3 Portland, ME Topic: Taxes Target: D/I
It’s a sad day in American history when you, the every day citizen, pays more than your fair share out of your pocket in taxes at the end of the day than ever before.
February Day 3 Bangor, ME Topic: Education Target: D/I
A great education is the gateway to success, it is the gateway to opportunity and accessibility. Every child should have the opportunity to receive a world class education, and the ability to attend college if they wish to like you here today in Maine.
February Day 3 Seattle, WA Topic: Port Security Target: D/I/R
I have spent considerable time in the last couple of years examining our ports, especially those on the West Coast, which I know best. The Port of Los Angeles which is really three separate ports, is made up of the ports of San Pedro, Long Beach and Los Angeles. This is an enormous, enormous area. At least thirty percent of the nation’s sea borne trade comes through the Port of Los Angeles. The Port of Seattle is a dynamic port which has been experimenting to a great extent with how to bring about continuing inspection of container scanning.
I have personally been through each of those ports to see what was being done regarding Port Security. There is still a great many problems, but I must say people operating these ports, including those who are really the working people of the ports have gone out of their way to make certain that our ports are safe and secure and that the containers are in fact scanned. Unfortunately, there are not enough port security employees and scanning equipment to scan every container entering the United States.
I am proposing a pilot program as soon possible to have one hundred percent of the containers on the West Coast scanned. We will begin that pilot program in San Francisco. During this pilot the information gathered will help us understand what type of committment will be needed in order to implement the idea of scanning 100% of all cargo entering a West Coast Port. We will be looking at staffing needs, how much scanning equipment will be needed for the amount of traffic in our ports and most importantly how much safer this will make our country.
This is in keeping with my promise to implement the 9/11 Commission's recommendations to secure America.
Together we can build a safer America! Together we can buid a New American Century!
February Day 3 Spokane, WA Topic: Fair Trade Target: D/I
One of the largest reasons that American jobs are being exported left, right, and center is because we haven’t been thinking about American workers when we sign trade deals – we’ve been putting profits ahead of people, and that’s not responsible government.
Washington knows better than anyone that what we need more than anything right now is decent jobs for hard-working Americans.
Together we can build a strong American economy! Together we can create a fair trade policy that protects the American worker! Together we can build a New American Century!
February Day 3 Tacoma, WA Topic: Global Warming Target: D/I
We've seen alot of amazing and horrifying things in the past one hundred years.
Pretty soon, Washington is going to have a primary to decide who the Democratic nominee will be.
February Day 3 Honolulu, HI Topic: Healthcare Target: D/I
Despite medical abundance, healthcare is too often meager because of the irrationality of the present health care system.
February Day 3 Madison, WI Topic: Leaderhsip Target: D/I/R
February Day 3 Milwaukee, WI Topic: Environment Target: D/I
I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment.
Together we can build an America into a beacon of clean energy that illuminates the way for the rest of the World. Together we can build a New American Century!
