Senator Clark's Victory Speech in Des Moines
Thank you, Iowa.
You said the time has come to move beyond the fiscal mismanagement that has consumed Washington; to end the politics that's been all about fear and instead make it about reform, and progress - to build a force of change through Red States and Blue States. Because that's how we'll win in November, and that's how we'll solve the problems facing America. We're sending a strong message to Washington that reform is coming.
I'll be a President that is fiscally responsible, that respects Civil liberty, that has a properly funs the education system, that will fight against poverty, global warming and Genocide.
This will be an intense election because people really care about what is happening to our country. So many of the people who talk to me every single day are worried about the economy, health care and education. We can build an America with a strong Economy, a world-class healthcare system, and a world-class education system.
Tonight, we are one step closer to that vision of America because of what you did here in Iowa. I'd like to thank the volunteers, staff, and my campaign team for making this all possible. Furthermore, I would like to thank Senate Majority leader Paterson, Democratic Party Chairman Maximiliano, and Senator Bredesen for their endorsements, and their tireless work in Iowa speaking about myself, and my campaign. I am thrilled to have had this vote of confidence that you have given me today.
Thank you, Iowa.
I know you didn't do this for me. You did this-you did this because you believe, as I do, deeply in the American ideals of equality, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and the american dream. Rebuilding that dream is what we started here in Iowa, and that is the message we can now carry to the rest of the country.

Here are his following remarks: "Thank you, Charleston. I've have a lot of favorite cities, but -- [laughter] -- as I just said in Cleveland, I spent some of my childhood in this city. No, I'm really -- [laughter] -- no, but it was fun. We had a little meet and greet earlier, and I saw many friends that have been in the political spotlight for some time and you’ve been very supportive of me. Some are so old I though some were supposed to be died. [Laughter] Anyway, It’s a pleasure to be here. But it's wonderful to be here in Charleston and enjoying southern charm. It almost feels like 2006 all over again. You know, as I said to my wife when we are driving here this morning, it's great to out D.C. and back to the simple folk. Now, you know, with your excellent Congressman John Spratt and Jim Clyburn, I'm not going to say anything bad about that “Do Nothing Congress;” but there are some changes that are needed there. And with this election going on, it somewhat remains me of the last Gone With the Wind scene. And Rhett Butler said,``Scarlett, I‘m to old to believe in clean slates and starting all over. I rather remember it at it’s best then pick up the broken pieces.'' And Scarlett remarked, ``Rhett, what am I supposed to do? Where am I supposed to go? And Rhett said, ``Frankly, my dear I don’t give a damn.'' [Laughter] Now, doesn’t the American people sound like old Rhett Butler. They’re telling the Republican Party we’re tired of the lies and broken promises. We rather remember you at your best. Then take any more lies. And the Republican desperation of we’re am I supposed to go? And on December 31st, the American people are going to say “ We don’t give a damn.” Now, If I'm not mistaken, that beautiful music was from by the Burke High School Band. I don't want to insult them, but you do much better than Tim McGraw, I'll tell you. [Laughter] I apologize for begin a little late, and I know that it's a bore, but I‘ve been campaigning a lot. One thing I've been picking up from this part of South Carolina is the marvelous enthusiasm for our next President, Joe Clark. You can feel it. You can feel it in my heart. [Laughter] You can feel the message spreading. Now, back to the man of the year. People who Joe -- they know he's got a passion for politics in his blood. You know where he stands. I know where he stands. We're in some hard times, and Strunk-Irvine-Rockwood leadership just isn’t working. A Clark Administration has the strength and the resolve to go to Tehran and meet with the Iranian leaders face to face and end these disputes and conflicts once and for all. A Carpenter Administration will hand back self-determination to the Iraqi people, will fully support Iraqi democracy, based upon a foundation of liberty and freedom, and will make sure that its support is not just empty rhetoric but significant and multifaceted. Clark speaks in Columbia, South Carolina
Ladies and Gentlemen of the great state of South Carolina,
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” the words upon which this great nation is founded. Regardless of race, creed, sex or religion we are all equal. South Carolina has a large African American population a demographic that has been historically underrepresented. I stand before you today vowing to stand for equality. In the eternal words of Martin Luther King Jr. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” America needs to stand up in a united front and say no to discrimination.
I was recently endorsed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. They are an organization that has been at the forefront of the fight for equality for nearly one hundred years. Additionally Democratic Chairman Maximiliano, himself a member of the Latino population, has endorsed me. These endorsements come from individuals with strong track records fighting for equality. I invite you all to stand with Chairman Maximiliano, and the members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and I and to say we wont take it anymore. Lets send a message that Washington will hear. Here and now in South Carolina we can start the tide of change towards an end to discrimination. I don’t care if you’re of African descent, South American descent, Asian descent, or European descent I want you all to stand up. It’s time we all stood up together in the spirit of equality, and unity and send a message to the world that racism, ageism, sexism, and religious intolerance are coming to an end.
I am going to set an example in the way I run my campaign. I will work with members of the African community, the Asian community, the Latino community, and the European community to develop policies that represent the best interest of the nation as a whole not just the majority. These communities all share a common trait; we are all American. So lets work together for realizing the American dream for every one.
It’s time Government represents all of the population.

"Citizens of Miami, I've come today to speak to you about a subject that will quickly become very relevant, for all of you: the democratic primaries. I'm sure you are all well aware of my endorsement of Sen. Clark's candidacy, an endorsement support by an identical statement of support from Democratic Senate leader Sen. Patterson, and I hope that you, the voters, will agree with us that Clark is the best man for the job.
I understand that the issue of immigration is important for many of you here, because the issue has been used by the republicans to justify, in my view, racist measures and comments. As a nation founded on freedom, the protection of life, and the word of law, we cannot allow vigilantes to take the law into their own hands like is happening on the US-Mexico border. We cannot turn back people fleeing from an oppressive regime ruled by a tyrant.
And immigration is one of the top issues on Clark's agenda, and he plans to take a stand to help end the unfair treatment of immigrants in this country, a country founded on immigration.
I'm sure that there are many of you concerned by the economy, as we all should be, and Sen. Clark is just the man for the job. He has years of experience, as well as a degree in economics, and a solid plan. I believe that a man like that is a man I can trust with a nation as great as this, and I'm sure that many of you can agree.

Senator Clark speaks in Detroit, Michigan
Ladies and Gentlemen of the great state of Michigan,
Lets work together to build a strong and prosperous middle class. By reforming and simplifying the Tax code, reforming the Federal Reserve system, and combating outsourcing to bring jobs back to America.
I have spent more than a decade in side the Federal Reserve, and almost three decades studying economic management with some of the brightest minds on the planet. We are facing a time of economic change with issues such as global warming presenting new economic, and social issues. These are issues that I have spent the majority of my life studying, and during my years in the Federal Reserve, and as a Senator managing. I understand monetary policy, and the implications of tax, and social programs I am fully prepared to deal with them to ensure a better future for Americans.
Let's take stock of the situation today in Michigan. Unemployment is under five percent nationwide, but over seven percent in Michigan. Ten percent of Michigan's jobs have disappeared this decade and 50,000 people left the state in the past year. Something needs to be done.
American autoworkers are facing a problem with decreasing number of positions available due to the increasing number of Jobs leaving America. We need to begin to reform the current system to make it unfavourable to mass outsource jobs. I will work with the auto companies, the federal government, and foreign governments to resolve this crisis. Together we can solve this problem.
Demand Better.
The American youth are facing a desperate situation American the current education system is in shambles poor legislation such as the No Child left Behind Act are destroying the quality of education that the next generation of Americans are experiencing.
The act is failing thousands of children. You cannot solve an issue by simply ignoring it. We need to reform the system. President Bush doesn’t seem to understand that such a reform would pay for itself in the long-term from the gains we would see from a more educated population. To put it in perspective President Bush has thrown trillions of dollars in the Iraq war but he will only allocate 69.36 Billion for the American education system. Something doesn’t add up.
Working together we can fix these problems. So lets but aside partisanship and get something achived.

Here are his following remarks: "Well, it's wonderful to be here in Miami. We‘re experiencing a lot of media attention these days, as you've seen. And as I said there, it's great to be back on the campaign trail again. It feels almost like 2006 again. And the way Floridians are rallying for Joe Clark, it sounded like a homecoming game for the Miami Dolphins. With the kind of enthusiasm that I've been seeing here today, I can tell the people of this city want someone a President in Washington who's got a reputation for leadership - someone who is pro-American, pro-worker, and pro -defense. And I can tell that pretty soon we’re going to be sending your delegates votes for Joe Clark. You know, there was a time that being a Democrat in this area of Florida made you felt like Robert Lee at the Battle of Gettysburg very outnumbered. [Laughter] All that, as they say, is history. More and more, the people of Florida are rejecting the idea taxpayer funded outsourcing of American jobs. As I said in earlier, it's time for a new day for Florida. The celebrating is over, and it's time to get back to hit the pavement. There's a lot of work that still needs to be done to see Florida reach it‘s highest potential, and Joe Clark can defiantly do it. He's been a leader in the Senate to make America the land of opportunity- and rebuild her patriotism and greatness. He's someone who‘ll get things done for America, and not at the expense of values. And that's the difference between 4 more years of broken foreign policy or 4 years of using diplomacy before using force. I didn't seek election to be a Senator that doesn‘t work. Too many tough challenges lie before America, too much issues that must be addressed. I cannot stand and will stand for the policy “Leave it for our children“. Together, we can win the Presidency. Together, we can send Joe Clark to the White House and redirect this country. We‘ve got to restore prosperity to every corner in America. And lately we haven‘t been making progress, we‘ve got a long road to travel. It just doesn't seem fair that Florida is being held back from joining in America's prosperity because of sweet backroom deals. Believe me, Miami isn't the only place where backroom deals has destroyed our foreign policy. Back in 2006 we faced the same problem in Washington after twelve years corruption and dirty tactics, breaking the glass ceiling and passing centrist legislation. And we brought America back. It's time to break the glass ceiling again and bring Florida back, too. And Joe Clark will do it. Now, maybe you've noticed that Florida has been warming up to Democrats lately. And that's because the Republicans longer believe in putting the American worker before outrageous trade agreements, costing Floridians jobs. And, no, I don't mistake the rank and file of the Republican Party for its pro-business leadership. And I am grateful for honest Republicans. I'm sure there must be a number of Republicans in this crowd seeking a new candidate and maybe a new party. Some of them may be former Morrison supporters; some might be debating over selecting a new candidate. But we couldn't have been elected in 2006, we without the support of those Republicans. Because like us, they believe in the creating a competitive economy and using force only when necessary. And we Democrats, thank you."

Here are his following remarks: "Senator Joe Clark has a long resume of experience. You know, he's not one of these Washington politicians who spews a lot of hot air. He knows exactly what he‘s talking about. I have worked with him up close. I know what's it like to work with a man who is determined to give tax cuts to middle-class families, and protecting the United States of America. He has delivered his promises to the people; and this country will be better off with Joe Clark as President.” But seriously though, he will. This is especially true here in Michigan. A tough race is coming up. Yet I can't think of an individual who has done more for the cause in which we all so firmly believe than America‘s Senator, Joe Clark. As I mentioned a few minutes ago, Joe is one of Washington‘s most experience individuals. He‘s a role model for every child.
