Name: Malika Davida
Age: 35
Party: Democratic
State/Seat: Washington, Class I
Malika Karimi was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, where her father, an agent with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, was on a mission. Her parents divorced when she was three years old, and her father was awarded custody of her. They returned to his native Tel Aviv a year later, and Malika and her father moved back and forth between Israel, South Africa, and the United States as her father's job needed.
Upon reaching age 18, Malika was conscripted into the Israeli Army, but her mandatory two-year enlistment was cut to six months for religious reasons. She then enrolled briefly in the Mossad, Israel's equivalent of the Central Intelligence Agency. Five months into her service, however, she was placed on exchange to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in the United States. Her first task was investigating a possible Mossad connection at a crime scene in Washington State. When the case was settled, Malika, because of her knowledge of American military culture, was tapped to be a liaison between Mossad and the NCIS at their field office in Silverdale, Washington. She became a dual citizen of Israel and the United States in 1992.
Malika ran for the Washington State Senate in 2000, and re-elected in 2004. In 2006, she was elected to the United States Senate for Washington, the adopted home she has come to accept and adore.
Malika lives in Poulsbo, Washington. She speaks Hebrew, Arabic, German, and English fluently.
