I know this is going to happen, so a warning: Saying what the SIG's want to hear may help you squeeze money from them, but everything you say in your application can be used against you, and may not go over well if it goes against your prior positions or your primary voters' preferences.

Any Senator can fundraise, even if you aren't running for office. This will allow you to save up a large warchest for a later date. Candidates will attract more attention when fundraising for obvious reasons.
Also, make a "Press Office" and to post announcements and keep your voting record in.
