San Fransico, California: Fundraiser Topic: Energy/Climate Change Admition: $500, donations accepted Target: Independents/Democrats; moderates
Surratt gave the following speech
A sound American energy policy would focus on three areas: basic research to create a new energy system that has few environmental side effects, incentives for conservation, more renewable resources, and finally going cold turkey on Foriegn Oil.
A hydrogen economy is probably fifteen years away but there seems to be no scientific reason the hydrogen engine cannot be mass-produced. General Motors and virtually every other major automobile manufacturer have major programs underway to develop hydrogen energy designs and production. The potential is real that many of the pollution problems of our lifetime will begin to disappear after 2020 or 2025.
Conservation is the second great opportunity in energy. Already the United States has adjusted to earlier oil price increases by becoming a dramatically more efficient user of energy. But companies like Honeywell and Johnson Controls believe we could achieve 30 to 60 percent improvements in energy conservation if our tax policy better encouraged it and if we set the standard by optimizing energy use in government buildings. A tax credit to subsidize energy efficient cars (including a tax credit for turning in old and heavily polluting cars) is another idea we should support.
Finally our addiction to Oil that is sold to us from a crook, a communist and a king must end. The Oil that we buy from Russia, Venezula and Saudi Arabia has cost this country deeply. Wether its choosing to feed or heat our homes in New England so our kids dont freeze or paying 3.50 at the pump for gas. The fact is we can run on Hydrogen and Electric Cars. Under my adminstration we will do so. I would like to thank the woderful Californians for having me tonight.

"Friends, an education is one of the best things you can get. The more education you have, the more likely you are to succeed in this world. However, a quality education is incredibly expensive often and not everyone qualifies for scholarships and grants. That causes a problem for people who want to get an education, who want to get a good job and move up the social ladder of American society. I recognize this problem. Therefore, I have proposed the Make College Affordable Act. This bill will make every last penny you spend on your education tax deductible *crowd cheers*. Now I would like to take your questions."

Senator Rottnek gave the following speech:
"Friends, I am glad to be here before all of you. I want to thank each and every one of you for turning out today. I want to tell you why I chose to run for President. America has had a rocky last eight years. I recognize this. I also recognize that there must be change. I can offer that change.
We need to change our social security system, we need to change our educational system, we need to change our border policy, we need to change the way we treat our veterans. We also need to preserve something. We MUST preserve our moral backbone, that is so quickly eroding away.
I have a plan for our social security system. A plan that has enjoyed bipartisan support. This plan does two things, one I like, one I don't but that I realize must happen. The first thing it does is that it slows down the growth of benefits by tying the benefits to inflation. That is what I don't like. I don't like that our seniors don't have large benefit increases every year, however I recognize the necessity of it. The second thing it does is due to the first. It preserves the system indefinitely. I believe we must pass this plan because, otherwise, we are in incredible danger of leaving all of our seniors without the income they so desperately need to live off of.
I have a plan for our educational system. First of all, we need to increase how much money we spend, especially on gifted programs for the very intelligent. We must also change the way we pay teachers. We need to give a base salary. On top of that salary, we must offer bonuses. These bonuses would be for teaching in a poor area and for the quality with which you teach, and there is the possibility of other bonuses I have overlooked. We also need to expand charter schools, as they offer alternatives to the standard education received in public schools. We must expand charter schools because they offer a huge possibility for an escape from the one size fits all curriculum and learning style that public schools generally embrace, unintelligently if you ask me, so much right now. We must also expand funding for gifted education. We must make sure we offer our brightest students the most, we must offer them challenges. One of the largest groups of high school drop outs, and one of the largest growing groups, is gifted students. We simply do not offer them enough of a challenge to keep them in schools. This must change.
I have a plan for our veterans. My plan has been widely accepted by both Republicans and Democrats. My plan is multi-stage and only the first stage has been shown yet, as I am still developing the other stages. The first stage is the Veteran's Bill of Rights Resolution. This resolution does multiple things. First of all, it specifies a long series of rights that all of our veterans have. Secondly, it states in the beginning that simply because a right is left out of the resolution does NOT in any way mean that our vets don't have said right. Thirdly, this bill demands of Congress that they actually work to secure these rights for all of our vets. The rest of my plan is developing just how each and every one of these rights will be secured.
I have a plan to preserve our moral backbone. This plan is many parts. The first is that we must preserve the sanctity of human life, a gift from GOD. We can do this in a few ways, we can heavily regulate abortion and we can make assisted suicide illegal. We also must make sure that we do not allow homosexual marriage. Along with these two parts of the plan, there are others. Among these is the demand that America stand up and rally against all evil in this world. One case where America is failing to do this is in the Sudan. We must rally together and end the genocide there!
I want to thank you all for coming out today. I will be sticking around to speak to you all and to meet you."

Location: Flint, Michigan Topic: Economy Target: Independents, Republicans Addmition: $35 Breakfast, donations accepted Menu: Pancakes, Waffels, Eggs( every kind ), Bacon, Ham, and sausage.
Sen. Surratt gave the following speech.
Our Economy is down for the count. Flint Michigan has felt these shock waves with job losses. However I am here to bring these jobs back. As soon as I set foot in the Oval office there will be a bill on the Floor of the house of Representitives that Raises the Minimum wage, creates job retraining programs, and gives you your job back. Now a lot of you are saying well thats just a load of B.S., every politician says that. Well heres how. In America we have the highest Corporation taxes. The companies that you work for or formaly worked for are taxed the highest in the world. That bill that mentioned that raises the minimum wage slashes Corporation and Small Business taxes allowing them to raise the minimum wage with out having to lay off employees.
Thats just the Start my friends. MY presidency includes America running on Hydrogen Cars, and our homes being heated by nuclear, electric and wind power. I say enough with polution. All these new forms of energy bring in new jobs. So when your voting in the up coming primary remeber who has real solutions and not political talk. thank you and god bless.
