Buffalo, NY Rally Fundraiser #7 $100
I believe in the power of everyday heroes.
The folks that wakeup early every morning and wear their blue collars to a thankless job for very little pay are my heroes.
The folks that put on badges, brandish guns, and patrol our streets are my heroes.
I believe in the power of hard work and sacrifice to lift any American out of poverty to achieve whatever dream they have for themselves.
I believe that our Creator blessed us with the power to remake this world and I believe that that power is a gift that must be used responsibly.
These are the things I believe in. These are the things that give me hope that America's brightest days are ahead of it, but we must have a leader willing to embrace that vision and hope for tomorrow. That is why I want to be your President.
I am running to give a voice to the people, to the Americans disillusioned by the current leadership and yearning for government that listens, for government that fulfills its duty- to care for its people, for a government that strengthens the bonds between our allies, for a government that is pro-active instead of reactive.
Today we are faced with a stagnate economy, high gas prices, people losing their homes, and the ongoing war against terror. We need a new vision for America and I have that vision. I have a vision of an America that is creating jobs, a vision of an America that has a strong education system, a vision of an America that brings tax cuts to the middle class, a vision of an America that values the working people of this nation.
Together we can build that America! Together we can get America moving forward again! Together we can build a New American Century! --------------------------------------------- 33000

"I am a candidate for President of the United States because it is our duty to make sure that we get our nation back on track. It is our duty as Americans to preserve the American Dream for every citizen of this great nation. It is our duty to restore hope and promise to the futures of our children and their children, and their children. It is our duty to protect our nation and stand up and defend it. That is what I have done in the Army , that is what I have done in Congress, and that is what I will do as President.
America needs and deserves leadership, we need a different kind of politics, a different kind of politician, a different kind of President.
My vision for America is not liberal, or conservative, it isn’t a Democratic or Republican vision; it is an American vision. It is a vision that will make our country safer, stronger and more prosperous. It is a vision based upon the courage to act, the courage to work together and unite, and the courage to face the challenges that we face head on.
In the words of our former President Bill Clinton this campaign will be about “more opportunity for all, more responsibility from everyone, and a greater sense of common purpose.”
And this campaign will foster those values, we will bring people together and we will seize upon the things that unite us as a people. And when I say we are going to bring everyone together I don't just mean Democrats, but Independents, and Republicans, too. We are going to bring people who have never voted into the fold, and we will unite as a nation.
It is time for us to capitalize exactly on who we are and what we are capable of doing. We are the greatest nation in this world. We have the ability to create jobs, the ability to lift people out of poverty, the strongest military in the world, but our most important asset is our people. And together as a people we can get America back on track and we can make it great once again. And with your support I hope to be able to lead us down that path."

I met a young lady named Trisha Stewart in Des Moines a few days ago. Trisha told me about her daughter, Carla, and how when Carla was just 4 years old, she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Trisha is a single mother and works two jobs just to pay for Carla's daycare. She can't afford health insurance for herself, but she makes just enough to cover her daughter.
Trisha says that she is desperate for help that just doesn't seem to come. She told me that everyday is a struggle to pay the bills and that, whenever she is ill, she is forced to work through the pain, so that her daughter can get the medicine she so desperately needs.
I want to be President, so that parents like Trisha don't have to go through this constant struggle any longer. I want to be President, so that children like Carla aren't forced to watch their parents waste away and work slavishly just to get by in the years when they need their parents the most. I want to be President because I believe that, as the strongest, richest, most powerful nation on Earth, we have a moral obligation to care for our society's most desperate members.
Our Washington leaders have the means to help Trisha and Carla and millions of Americans like them, they only lack the political will to do so. As President, I will be the strong progressive leader that finally sees to it that no American in this nation will go without healthcare. ------------------------------------------------------- 36000

Birmingham, AL speaking at the Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham Lunch Rally #10 $250

It is great to be in Alabama today. This great city was on the frontline of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960's and while great progress has been made, we aren't finished with the struggle.
There have been great strides in America in the last 40 years. However, the Republicans have consistently rejected the idea of making the Voting Rights Act of 1965 a permanent part of our laws in America. They have continued to insist on extending it for a few years at a time. As President, I will push for the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to be made permanent.
The Republicans like to talk about family values and morality in America. I can't think of a more moral stance than to protect the rights of millions of African-Americans to continue to enjoy the voting rights that are protected by this Act.
Ladies and gentlemen, the choice is clear. We can continue to elect people who have no vision, have no courage or we can elect someone with the vision to lead all Americans. I think America will choose to have a leader for ALL Americans and that's why I'm running for President.
Thank you and God bless you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I come to you today to speak about a very important issue - our environment. The Republicans would have us believe that Global Warming is a figment of our imaginations. Scientist from around the world may disagree to the causes but they all agree that our planet is getting warmer.
I have long been outspoken for environmental issues but with the Republicans controlling the White House and the House of Representatives, little has been done. Global warming is a serious issue. It is time for the America to lead the way in the area of renewable energy. I will be an advocate for research and development programs that will lower our dependency on oil, capturing carbon dioxide from coal-burning power plants and creating "green" jobs.
If elected, I will propose tax incentives that encourage energy companies to retrofit coal-burning power plants with carbon dioxide capturing technology. I will also propose tax incentives for businesses that engage in research and development in the areas of solar, wind and other forms of renewable energy. Right here in Iowa, we have a great opportunity to help the local farmers and combat global warming by promoting corn ethanol production. Together we can change the atmosphere in Washington. Together we can put the environment first. Together we can help farmers. Together we can lower our dependence on foreign oil. Together we can secure America’s future.
For the everyday citizen of the great country I propose tax incentives for homeowners to make their houses more energy efficient and for those who purchase automobiles that use dual fuel, electric or other renewable energy sources.
I can't do this alone. I need your help. I need you to volunteer your time and money for this campaign. Together we can build an America into a beacon of clean energy that illuminates the way for the rest of the World.

Minneapolis, MN Lunch Rally #12 $250
Grilled shrimp on Mediterranean couscous with red pepper coulis Grilled tenderloin of beef with provencal on ratatouille Gratin potatoes and seasonal vegetables The dessert was a creme de cassis dark chocolate sphere with a black currant gelee center
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Today I come to you to speak about one of the most important issues to all people of the United States - education. Education is an issue that all families are concerned about no matter what their background or economic status.
As President, I will make a commitment to provide world class education for our children. Researchers have said that one way to increase student success in the classroom is to institute a Pre-K program. I propose such a program. The JumpStart Program will be made available to all children at the age of 4. Georgia has funded such a program and test scores have improved for their students every year since the creation of such a program.
No Child Left Behind is not working. Do we need accountability for teachers? YES. Do we need to ensure that all students are meeting basic standards? YES. Do we need to help local governments build and maintain safe building for our children? YES. Well, you’re probably sitting there wondering why No Child Left Behind isn’t working since those are the goals of the program. It isn’t working ladies and gentlemen because the Republican President that introduced this program promised full funding for the program. Instead Washington has dumped the cost of this program onto state and local governments. We need to fully fund this program or it will never work.
I am also committed to expanding access to higher education to all students regardless of income. I plan to simplify the higher education tax credits into one easy to claim credit. Depending on the income level of the parent or parents of the student, the parents will be able to claim between 20 and 30 percent of the student's tuition as a tax break as long as the student attends an accredited college. With the current rise in tuition cost and the stagnate economy that is facing all families this is a sensible approach to ensure that all children will be able to attend college.
Together we can ensure that our students will be able to compete in this global economy. Together we can ensure that all children no matter what their economic or racial background will get a world class education. Together we change our education system so that it works for our children. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 32000

Denver, CO Lunch Rally #13 $250
I have spent several hours today walking around this beautiful city and talking to some of our campaign volunteers. I have talked to many people and one of the things that has immensely touched me was the sense, in the faces of all I spoke to, whether young or old, whether Democrat, Independent or Republican... of hope. A sense that we deserve better than we have gotten from the Bush Administration... that we deserve better leadership, better government, a better economy... a better America.
I am running to give a voice to the people, to the Americans disillusioned by the current leadership and yearning for government that listens, for government that fulfills its duty- to care for its people, for a government that strengthens the bonds between our allies, for a government that is pro-active instead of reactive.

Speech:"I wish to start by taking a brief moment to thank you all for being in attendance here tonight. Although all of us gathered together in this room come from very different backgrounds and in some cases are even direct competitors in the business arena, we all have one thing in common: the desire for a stronger American economy and a tax policy which is conducive to growth. I have invited you all here to discuss my plans for revitalizing the economy, which by all accounts is currently headed into the worst recession in the last 80 years, and reforming the federal tax policy from the current system to a fairer, national sales tax. I am sure that many of you agree with me on the need for tax reform, from what you have experienced owning and directing some of the most influential and prosperous companies of the 21st Century. All of you are involved as leaders in the technology industry, one sector which has remained strong even throughout the weakness elsewhere in the economy. However, it will not stay that way forever, at least not the way we are headed. Luckily, we do not have to remain headed as we are. With the proper leadership and the right proposals, we can get the economy back on track and implement the FairTax policy, which you have likely heard of before. Currently, the United States has the most anti-business tax system in the world, made even worse by the fact that we consistently pride ourselves on having more economic freedom than any other country in the world. Under the FairTax, we will finally be able to practice what we preach. At last, we will have a tax policy which does not punish companies for growth, or even tax them at all, but instead allows the free market to have full say on their operations. Further, business tax compliance costs will drop dramatically under the FairTax because the only question relevant for sales tax purposes is “How much did you sell to consumers?” Businesses that sell to other businesses have virtually no compliance costs, since intermediate business-to-business sales are not taxed under the FairTax Plan. In addition, under the plan, retail businesses receive an administration fee that allows them to keep a portion of the sales tax they collect to compensate them for collection costs. It is estimated that under the FairTax, tax compliance costs for most businesses will fall by about 90%, when compared to the current system. Not only will my tax proposal directly reduce taxes on your businesses, but it will encourage economic growth in other, indirect ways as well. By eliminating the Capital Gains Tax, it will be more attractive than ever for middle-class workers to invest in fast-growing, profitable industries such as technology, leading to more income for your companies than ever before. I am the only candidate who has offered my full support to American business through my support of the FairTax. I believe that business and free enterprise is what makes the American economy so great and unique, and that as a government we must throw our full support behind it. The FairTax proposal does exactly that. It is not just beneficial to the American worker, but also to American business, and to the American economy. I have given my support to you, and now all that I ask is that you extend that same support to me. I have presented the reasons why my tax plan will help your companies, and how it will help the economy as a whole. If you agree with what I have said, and want to see the FairTax implemented in 2009, I am your man. So if you as well support a fair tax plan and economic policy which will encourage growth and prosperity, consider making a donation to my campaign after this dinner is over. Anything is accepted and appreciated, for the good of you and me, and all of America. Once again, thank you all for coming out to listen to me tonight, and please enjoy the rest of your dinner." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 166000
